Bringing lunch to work has recently become popular again in Canadian society, but it has been around for a lot longer than the latest recession.

One of our more unique artifacts in the museum is a traditional Ukrainian lunch pail. It has two compartments, one for the soup and one for the bread, a handle and a wooden lid. It is always exciting to find such practical, day-to-day items in a museum's collection, since these items are often worn out well before they reach us.

This pail was used to take lunch to farmers working in the field in Saskatchewan, but I predict the design will catch on in Saskatoon and Regina in no time!
