The Milliner Tradition ...the Art of Hat Making
Influenced by the 1920's, Sherri Hrycay's explorations in design tell a story about the feelings of that era. Fashion was more daring at the end of the First World War and reflected the mood of global society.

Ukrainians were not unlike others in Europe at the turn of the century. Contemporary fashion made an indelible mark on the people of Ukraine. Hand in hand with a distint cultural life came accompanying fashion. Upon immigrating to North America, western style fashions and clothing influenced Ukrainian people as they settled into life in a new homeland. Traditional styles of embroidered and woven clothing and headdress embraced the introduction of modern design and fabrication.

Each of Hrycay's works is an individual and inspired piece of art. They are created from scratch with genuine fur felt and trimmed with the most unique of materials, velvet, ribbon, broaches, beads and hand embroidery. These are indeed treasures that portray an indescribable elegance and a very illustrious reflection of tradition.
