Friday, August 22 the Ukrainian Museum of Canada will join the Canada wide wave of unveiling of the commemorative internment plaque - the Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Foundation CTO ("One Hundred") project.

"One hundred years after the Great War began, and The War Measures Act undermined the human rights and civil liberties of many of our fellow Canadians, we shall remember what they endured and so ensure no other ethnic, religious, or racial minority ever again suffers as they once did." Source: UCCLA correspondence.

"What was done to us was wrong. Because no one bothered to remember or learn about the wrong that was done to us it was done to others again, and yet again. Maybe there's an even greater wrong in that." Mary Manko Haskett, Survivor of the Spirit Lake internment camp.
