`Red & Black/Червоне й чорне`, by artist Iryna Karpenko
Art on glass combining unique styles of East European folk art.

Iryna states that her artwork is based on impressions from a mixture of different stories, songs and legends which surround our real and imagined, natural and cultural, historic and prehistoric lives. Some subjects are derived from Slavic mythology and ancient fairytales. Others can be interpreted as an intricate combination of elements from different epochs and cultures.

Born in Kyiv, Iryna attended various art schools and academies and worked as an illustrator and designer for publishing houses and children`s magazines. Exhibit locations included the historical Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra. Now residing in Edmonton, Iryna continues her work as a fine artist, designer and exhibitor.

Look forward to an Artist Reception to be held on Friday, December 7. More details will follow.

This exhibit will continue until Sunday, January 31.
